September 10 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government said that it has decided to start requiring a negative Covid-19 test result for passenger from Kosovo who are transiting the country.
Kosovo residents transiting North Macedonia will have to submit a negative result for coronavirus infection not older than 72 hours prior to entering the country, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The government did not say when the decision will take effect, but local media reported that the new measure is effective starting September 10.
Previously, transit passengers from Kosovo were only required to commit to leave North Macedonia within three hours upon entry.
On Wednesday, North Macedonia confirmed 72 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total count to 15,293, health ministry data shows. So far, 634 people have died from the Covid-19 disease in North Macedonia.
Kosovo has confirmed a total of 12,683 cases, including 488 deaths, as of Thursday, health ministry data shows.
