April 14 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's health minister Venko Filipce said on Wednesday that the country will receive 20,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer by the end of April.
Under a direct contract with the US pharmaceutical company, North Macedonia is expecting two shipments of 10,000 vaccines each on April 19 and April 26, Filipce told a news conference streamed on the Facebook page of local news outlet Alsat.
The minister reiterated that the country should also receive additional 76,000 doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine against the COVID-19 infection by the end of the month.
The country is also waiting for confirmation over additional doses of the vaccines produced in China and Russia, Filipce added.
North Macedonia has reported 143,162 COVID-19 cases, including 4,289 coronavirus-related deaths so far. The country's authorities started the immunisation of the population on February 17.
