SKOPJE (North Macedonia), January 8 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia's consumer prices edged up 0.4% year-on-year in December, after decreasing by 0.1% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 38% in the consumer basket, increased by 0.9% year-on-year in December, after growing 1.1% in November, Makstat said in a statement.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13%, edged down 0.3% in December after falling 0.4% in the prior month.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8.7% weight in the consumer basket, rose 0.6% in December, following a 6.8% drop in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, North Macedonia's consumer prices edged up 0.3% in December, after falling by 0.1% the month before.
