March 8 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia received 3,000 doses of Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, health minister Venko Filipce said.
North Macedonia has ordered a total of 200,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, Filipce said in a post on Facebook on Sunday.
The 3,000 doses will be administered as a first jab to older citizens with chronic diseases staying in nursing homes, the health minister added.
In February, the country received a donation of about 8,000 doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine from Serbia, delivered in two batches. The health authorities in North Macedonia started the immunisation on February 17 with those doses.
North Macedonia has reported 107,163 COVID-19 cases and 3,195 coronavirus-related deaths so far.
