August 26 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government has decided to declare a 30-day state of energy crisis due to a shortage in the supply of heating energy to the city of Skopje and the supply of electricity across the entire country, it said on Friday.
Both decisions will take effect on September 1, 2022, the government said in a statement.
The government commission in charge of monitoring the situation with the supply of electricity and heating energy will analyse and assess the conditions on the electricity markets starting on September 1 and will propose measures in accordance with the decrees that govern the requirements for declaring a state of crisis, according to the statement.
In early November 2021, the government declared a 30-day state of crisis due to difficulties in power supply caused by production outages and a lack of additional sources for electricity generation.
