May 12 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government decided to cut the curfew period imposed to limit the spread of Covid-19 by two hours, after shortening it twice in the past two weeks.
As of May 13, the curfew will start at midnight instead of 11 pm, and end at 4 am instead of 5 am, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
There will be no curfew on the night of May 12 to May 13 due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The new curfew hours will be effective through May 18.
The government in Skopje shortehed the night curfew by two hours on May 5 and by one hour on April 28 as newly reported Covid-19 cases were falling.
The government also said on Tuesday that all fitness centres and other sports training facilities, as well as children playrooms will be allowed to reopen as of May 12.
The country recorded 171 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total count to 154,222. So far, 5,135 people have died from the disease.
