January 18 (SeeNews) - Three of the four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed in red territory on Wednesday, with the blue-chip SOFIX showing the strongest decline after losing 0.48% to 613.54 points.
While there were no gainers in the index, the top blue-chip loser was diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM]. The company fell by 2.43% to 0.80 levs with 13,650 shares traded. It was followed by IoT products maker Allterco [BUL:A4L], which lost 1.39% to 21.30 levs.
Chimimport and Allterco also pushed down the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The index closed 0.24% lower at 741.11 points.
The BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, fell by 0.30% to 141.35 points. The performance was particularly dragged by cable and wire manufacturer Emka [BUL:EMKA], which dropped by 5.71% to 3.30 levs. Additionally, the index was driven down by Chimimport and Allterco.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, closed unchanged at 185.49 points.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse soared to 3.27 million levs ($1.81 million/1.67 million euro) on Wednesday from a low of 339,401 levs a day earlier.
Growth was mainly driven by National Investment Fund (NIF) Dynamic [BUL:DYN], which generated 1.72 million levs of the total turnover. The stock closed flat at 10.80 levs with as many as 159,450 shares traded.
