January 27 (SeeNews) - Most countries in Southeast Europe (SEE) failed to make significant progress in the fight against corruption over the past year, non-governmental corruption watchdog Transparency International said on Wednesday.
Five SEE countries improved their performance in 2015, and five scored worse in the organisation's Corruption Perceptions ranking for 2015.
Slovenia, at the 35th spot out of 168, was the region's top performer. At the opposite end of the table, Kosovo and Moldova shared the 103th place.
Bulgaria, which ended at the 69th place, was the lowest ranked EU member.
Apart from Slovenia and Croatia which scored above 50, all other SEE countries are facing serious corruption problems, the ranking showed.
