November 24 (SeeNews) - Most of the turnover indices in the services sector in Bulgaria posted an annual increase in the third quarter of 2022, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday.
Turnover from transportation, storage and postal services recorded an annual jump of 42.5% in the period between July and September, having also grown by 7.5% on a quarterly comparison basis, the NSI said in a quarterly statement, citing preliminary seasonally adjusted data.
The strong performance was mostly driven by a 155.6% yearly surge in air transport services and a rise of 82.8% in water transport.
Turnover from information and communication services went up 14% year-on-year in the third quarter, on the back of a 25.9% growth in revenue from motion picture, video, TV programme production and music publishing activities. Computer programming, consultancy and related activities booked a 24.2% rise in turnover, followed by information service activities with 18.5%. By contrast, there was an 11.4% decline in publishing activities.
Within the other business services segment, the largest annual growth rate compared to the third quarter of 2021 was observed in travel agency and tour operator activities - by 78%, while employment activities rose by 26.7%. The only decline, of 9.8%, was measured in legal, accounting and management consultancy activities.
