PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 28 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s trade deficit expanded by 6.9% on the year to 107.5 million euro ($118.3 million) in January, the country's statistical office said.
Exports grew 10.8% to 31.3 million euro in January, while imports rose 7.7% to 138.8 million euro, the statistical office said in a statement on Thursday.
Montenegro's key export destinations in January were Serbia with 7.3 million euro, Slovenia with 5.7 million euro and Hungary with 3.0 million euro.
Imports into the country came mainly from Serbia which accounted for 21.5 million euro, China ranked second with 14.8 million euro and Germany followed with 12.8 million euro.
In 2019, Montenegro's trade gap widened by 1.5% to 2.185 billion euro.
