August 30 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s trade gap widened by 33.7% on the year in the first seven months of 2022, to 1.498 billion euro ($1.5 billion), the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports rose 81.6% year-on-year to 427 million euro in January-July 2022, while imports went up 42% to 1.925 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations in the first seven months of 2022 were Serbia with 76.2 million euro, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 59.57 million euro and Slovenia with 27.2 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly from Serbia, which accounted for 328.6 million euro worth of imports, Greece with 154.4 million euro, and Germany with 140.9 million euro.
Montenegro's trade deficit expanded by 18.9% to 2.067 billion euro last year.
