September 16 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's parliament will hold on September 23 its first session after the general elections held on August 30, parliament speaker Ivan Brajovic said on Wednesday.
"I proposed to my colleagues [...] to hold the constitutive session of the new Parliament on Wednesday, September 23. This proposal was unanimously approved," Brajovic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of Montenegro's parliament.
Opposition coalition For the Future of Montenegro, together with potential partners, secured 41 of 81 seats in parliament in last month's general election, while president Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will have 30 mandates.
Under Montenegro's constitution, the country's president should give a mandate for the formation of the next government to the election winner within 30 days after the inauguration of the new parliament.
