June 16 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro grew to 162.9 million euro ($169.6 million) in the first quarter of 2022, from 83.7 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 241.8 million euro in the first quarter of 2022 from 189 million euro in January-March 2021, while FDI outflow fell to 78.8 million euro from 105.3 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went down to 45.2 million euro in the period under review, from 35.4 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate stood at 84.4 million euro, up from 37.1 million euro in January-March 2021.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending decreased to 82.2 million euro in the first three months of 2022 from 114.4 million euro in the like period of 2021.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 552 million euro in 2021, from 467.5 million euro in the previous year.
