September 9 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro grew to 355.87 million euro ($358.76 million) in the first six months of 2022 compared to 205.6 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 508.03 million euro in the first half of 2022 from 349.6 million euro in the comparative period of 2021, while FDI outflow increased 5.66% to 152.16 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went up to 94.47 million euro in the period under review, a 17.74% increase from year earlier, while investments in real estate stood at 201.55 million euro, up 122.65%.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending slightly increased to 164.55 million euro in the January-June period of 2022 from 162.6 million euro in the like period of 2021.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 552 million euro in 2021, from 467.5 million euro in the previous year.
