January 11 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro went up 8.2% year-on-year to 398.2 million euro ($451.1 million) in the first ten months of 2021, from 368 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 677.9 million euro in the first ten months of 2021 from 541.4 million euro in January-October 2020, while FDI outflow grew to 279.6 million euro from 173.4 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went up to 133.7 million euro in the period under review, from 98.2 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew to 217.8 million euro from 85.5 million euro in January-September 2020.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending decreased to 246.5 million euro in the first ten months of 2021, from 326.1 million euro in the like period of 2020.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 467.5 million euro in 2020, from 305.1 million euro in the previous year.
