January 3 (SeeNews) - Montenegro reported a budget deficit of 76.2 million euro ($86.4 million) in the first eleven months of 2021, compared to a deficit of 397.3 million euro in the like period of 2020, official figures show.
The deficit accounted for 1.6% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP) for 2021, 59.5% below the plan, the finance ministry said in a statement published on its website.
Primary budget surplus totalled 11.2 million euro, versus a 295.3 million euro primary budget deficit in the first eleven months of 2020, the finance ministry said.
Total budget revenues rose by a real 14.3% on the year to 1.663 billion euro in the period under review, while expenditure decreased 6.2% to 1.739 billion euro.
Tax revenues went up by a real 21.4% to 1.066 billion euro, contributions grew 3.8% to 467.5 million euro, and fees increased to 38.8 million euro from 24.6 million euro.
On the expenditure side, current expenditure went down to 748.3 million euro from 765 million euro, while capital expenditure fell to 147.7 million euro from 197.1 million euro in the first eleven months of 2020.
