PODGORICA (Montenegro), August 30 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s trade deficit expanded by 9.8% on the year to 1.12 billion euro ($1.3 billion) in the first seven months of 2021, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports rose 17.6% to 235.2 million euro in the January-July period, while imports went up 11.1% to 1.356 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations in the first seven months of 2021 were Serbia with 63.1 million euro, Bosnia with 18.2 million euro and Italy with 16.6 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly from Serbia, which accounted for 268 million euro worth of imports, Germany with 130.1 million euro, and Italy with 89 million euro.
In 2020, Montenegro's trade deficit declined by 20.5% to 1.738 billion euro.
