May 16 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 8.6% year-on-year in April, after rising by an annual 10.5% in March, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices went up by 0.2% in April, after decreasing by 0.7% in March, the statistical office said in a statement.
In April, annual inflation was mostly fuelled by an increase in the prices at restaurants and hotels, by 15.7%. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up by 14.3%, food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 11.6%, furniture, household equipment, and household maintenance prices rose by 11.1%, and prices of clothing and footwear added 7.8%.
Prices of recreation and culture activities increased by 5.4% year-on-year in April, alcoholic beverages and tobacco appreciated 5.3% and healthcare services were 5.1% more expensive.
