March 29 (SeeNews) - Montenegrin power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) said it plans to invest 2.1 million euro ($2.26 million) in an overhaul of unit A1 of Piva hydro power plant (HPP).
The overhaul will be carried out in the next six months, EPCG said in a statement on Tuesday.
Piva produced 109.8 GWh of electricity In the period between January 1 and March 27, EPCG added.
The power plant operates three helical turbines with vertical shaft with a total capacity of 360 MVA.
Piva produced 792.46 GWh of electricity last year, or 26.2% of the aggregate output of power stations in Montenegro, EPCG said.
The Montenegrin government is EPCG's majority owner with a 57% stake. Italian group A2A owns 41.75%.
