PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 20 (SeeNews) – Montenegro's state-run power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) [MNG:EPCG] says it plans to invest 12 million euro ($12.7 million) this year in the project for the construction of a second unit of Pljevlja thermal power plant .
The sum will be invested in setting up a supervision commission and a project implementation commission, procurement and installation of equipment and drafting of documents, according to EPCG's 2017 public procurement plan posted on the company's website.
Czech company, Skoda Praha, as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contractor, will design the project and will be in charge of the construction of the unit itself, while the appointment of a supervision commission is a responsibility of EPCG, Montenegrin daily Dan quoted EPCG sources as saying.
Skoda Praha said earlier this month it plans to present to EPCG a final proposal for the project's financial structure and funding conditions at the end of February. The Czech company also said it signed a cooperation contract with General Electric for the construction of the unit.
In September, EPCG signed a 324.5 million euro deal with Skoda Praha for the construction of a 254 MW unit of Pljevlja power plant after two years of negotiations.
