October 31 (SeeNews) - The number of unemployed people in Montenegro has increased 14.8% on the year to 48,752 at the end of September, according to official data.
Out of the total, 19,671 were unemployed persons looking for a job for the first time, unqualified unemployed persons were 17,430, while the number of persons receiving unemployment benefits totalled 8,598, Montenegro's statistical office said in a report published on its website.
Montenegro’s unemployment rate fell to 15.1% in the second quarter of 2017, down by 2.3 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, the country's statistical office said in September.
Montenegro has a population of about 680,000.
