November 27 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's mobile phone penetration rate fell to 177% at the end of October from 181.2% a month earlier, data from the country's telecoms regulator indicated.
The three mobile operators in the country of 625,000 people reported a total of 1,097,574 SIM cards in use at the end of October. Pre-paid subscribers totalled 782,285, according to figures posted on the website of Montenegro's Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services.
The country's leading mobile operator, Telenor, part of the Norwegian telecommunications group of the same name, had 422,281 users and а 38.5% market share at the end of October.
The second biggest wireless carrier, T-Mobile, a unit of Magyar Telekom, had 384,336 customers and а 35% market share.
M:Tel, controlled by Serbia's state-owned Telekom Srbija, had 290,957 customers and а 26.5% market share at the end of October.
