September 13 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's central government debt went up to 3.65 billion euro ($4.3 billion) as at the end of June from 3.458 billion euro in December 2020, according to finance ministry data.
The central government debt was equivalent to 78.73% of the gross domestic product (GDP) estimated for 2021, compared to 82.48% of the GDP at the end of December, figures published by the finance ministry show.
The foreign debt of Montenegro grew to 3.653 billion euro at the end of June from 3.835 billion euro in December, while domestic debt went down to 426.6 million euro from 495.6 million euro.
The largest creditor of the Montenegrin government as at the end of June was the Export-Import Bank of China (EXIM Bank) with 688.1 million euro, followed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) with 185.1 million euro.
