PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 28 (SeeNews) – Montenegro's power grid operator CEDIS signed a 22.4 million euro ($25.4 million) contract with a consortium of local companies Mezon, Electro Team and Ramel for the overhaul of the low- and medium-voltage network across the country.
The project will take 24 months to complete, CEDIS said in a statement on Thursday.
"Through this project, around 480 km of medium-voltage network will be repaired between 2019 and 2021, which will make up about 13% of the low-voltage overhead network and about 8,000 poles. A total of 990 km of low-voltage network will be repaired and about 28,000 poles," the executive director of CEDIS, Zoran Djukanovic, said.
The project is part of CEDIS's 81.6 million euro investment programme for the 2019-2021 period.
