January 3 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s power grid operator Crnogorski elektrodistributivni sistem (CEDIS) completed a 1.45 million euro ($1.65 million) substation overhaul as part of a project for the upgrade of the medium-voltage and low-voltage grid in Niksic municipality, it said.
The overhaul included the installation of high-quality, air-insulated 10kV equipment at the Klicevo substation, improvng the stability and quality of electricity supply for about 8,000 customers in rural areas of Niksic municipality, CEDIS said in a statement last week.
The implementation of the project enabled the full use of 110/10 kV transformers which have a rated power of 31.5 MVA, CEDIS noted.
The company plans to start the construction of a total of four 35/10 kV substations in the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Pljevlja, it said.
In 2021, CEDIS invested 10 million euro in the overhaul of power transmission system in rural areas.
