PODGORICA (Montenegro), May 17 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) grew by 11.2% year-on-year in April, after rising by 9.7% in March, the national statistical office said on Thursday.

On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices went up by 1.9% in April, after increasing by 3.4% March, the statistical office said in a statement.

The monthly inflation rate was backed by the increase in prices of transport (up 4.4%), clothing and footwear (up 3.1%) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (up 2.9%).

On the other hand, the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels edged down 0.5% on the month in April.
