December 7 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro went up 2% year-on-year to 352.3 million euro ($396.6 million) in the first nine months of 2021, from 345.4 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 599.9 million euro in the first nine months of 2021 from 506.8 million euro in January-September 2020, while FDI outflow grew to 247.6 million euro from 161.4 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went up to 118.6 million euro in the period under review, from 91.9 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew to 184.3 million euro from 72.5 million euro in January-September 2020.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending decreased to 231.2 million euro in the first nine months of 2021, from 311.9 million euro in the like period of 2020.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 467.5 million euro in 2020, from 305.1 million euro in the previous year.
