May 14 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) declined by 0.9% on an annual basis in April, after remaining unchanged in March, the national statistical office said on Thursday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices went down by 0.7% in April, after decreasing by 0.3% March, the statistical office said in a statement.
The biggest impact on the negative monthly inflation rate came from the decline in prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (down 2.0%), transport (down 10.4%), and clothing and footwear (down 0.1%).
On the other hand, the biggest monthly rise in prices in April was recorded in the segments of food and non-alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco, up by 1.3% and 2.8%, respectively.
