January 18 (SeeNews) - Montenegro swung to consumer price inflation of 2.4% in 2021 from 0.3% deflation in the previous year, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
The largest rise of the average consumer prices, of 6.6%, was recorded in the segment of transport, whereas clothing and footwear prices went down 0.9%, the statistical office said in a statement.
In December alone, Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) went up 4.6% on an annual basis, after growing by 4.4% in November, the statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices edged up 0.3% in December, after rising by the same rate in November.
The biggest monthly rise in prices in December was recorded in the segment of food and non-alcoholic beverages, up 1.4%. On the other hand, the biggest monthly decline of prices was recorded in the segment of clothing and footwear, down 1.8%.
