January 19 (SeeNews) - Montenegro turned to consumer price deflation of 0.3% in 2020, from 0.4% inflation in the previous year, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
The largest decline of the average consumer prices, of 6.1%, was recorded in the segment of transport, whereas prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco grew 2.7%, the statistical office said in a statement.
In December alone, Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) went down 0.9% on an annual basis, after declining by 1.0% in November, the statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices edged up 0.1% in December, after decreasing by 0.3% in November.
The biggest monthly rise in prices in December was recorded in the segment of transport, up 0.4%. The biggest monthly decline of prices was recorded in the segment of clothing and footwear, down 1.2%.
