January 20 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government plans to call an international tender for the delivery of consultancy services to ToMontenegro, the successor to troubled flag carrier Montenegro Airlines, finance minister Milojko Spajic said.
"This week we are moving to the second phase of putting the new national airline into operation, so an international tender for a consultant will be launched," finance minister Milojko Spajic said in a press release on Tuesday.
The government established the new flag carrier with an initial capital of 30 million euro ($36.4 million) earlier this month to replace Montenegro Airlines which will be liquidated. The liquidation procedure would cost about 50 million euro but it is inevitable, as the country's competition authority has ruled that the law for public investment in the flag carrier adopted in December 2019 was illegal, the government said last month.
Montenegro Airlines was founded in 1994 and made its maiden flight in 1997.
