August 24 (SeeNews) - Montenegrin state-owned airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore plans to launch a 1 million euro ($1.2 million) project for a partial overhaul of the passenger terminals at Podgorica and Tivat international airports, managing director Danilo Orlandic has said.
The two terminals will soon be refurbished to provide passengers with as much comfort as possible and ensure more revenues from non-aviation sources, Orlandic said in a video file posted on the website of public broadcaster RTCG on Sunday.
A total of 400,000 euro of the sum will be invested in the modernisation of the business lounge of Podgorica airport, Orlandic said.
"Our priority was the safety of passengers and aircraft, therefore our investments were focused on the modernisation of equipment and technology. Now it is time to improve passenger comfort. Airports are the first impression of every passenger who comes to Montenegro, and the fight for every guest has already begun," he added.
Aerodromi Crne Gore resumed on June 9 the handling of commercial flights at Podgorica and Tivat airports, suspended since March due to the coronavirus crisis. Montenegro reopened the two airports for general aviation flights on May 20.
