January 20 (SeeNews) - Montenegro has agreed the delivery of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Sinopharm by the end of January, the health ministry said.
"In the meantime, the health ministry is in the final stage of bilateral negotiations with other producers of coronavirus vaccines and sticks to its previously stated position that immunisation in Montenegro will start with an EU-certified vaccine, and that it is the Pfizer's vaccine," the health ministry said on Thursday after an online meeting between health minister Jelena Borovinic Bojovic and representatives of the Chinese company.
The ministry also continues its dialogue on the delivery of vaccines under the COVAX facility of the World Health Organisation (WHO), it added.
Last week, Bojovic said she hopes the COVID-19 vaccination in the country will start in early February at the latest.
