May 24 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government plans to invest 4.8 million euro ($5.4 million) in the construction of power cable ducts along the Smokovac-Metesevo section of the Bar-Boljare motorway, part of European Corridor XI, it said.
The government will sign an annex for the installation of the cable ducts with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the contractor of the motorway construction project, it said in a statement on Thursday.
The additional works have no effect on the deadline for completing the construction project, which remains unchanged - September 30, 2020, the government said.
The 41 km long Smokovac-Matesevo motorway section will feature 18 tunnels, 13 bridges, five viaducts and four interchanges. The project is carried out by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
The Bar-Boljare motorway is a ferry/motorway corridor linking Italy's Bari to Romania's Bucharest via Montenegro's Bar port and Serbian capital Belgrade.
