January 3 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government plans to invest a total of 150 million euro ($167.3 million) in road reconstruction works in 2020, transport minister Osman Nurkovic said.
The government will carry out repairs on road sections with a total length of 160 km, with a special focus on the country's north, Nurkovic said in a statement earlier this week.
The road works will be financed through loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nurkovic noted.
Moreover, the government plans to launch railway projects worth 60 million euro, including the overhaul of the 20 km Lutovo-Bioc railway line, he added.
Last year, China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) said it plans to complete the construction of the 41 km Smokovac-Metesevo section of the Bar-Boljare motorway in Montenegro by mid-2020.
Three more sections of the highway - Matesevo-Andrijevica, Andrijevica-Boljare and Podgorica-Djurmani - are planned to be built. The motorway's total length on Montenegrin territory is 129 km.
