March 22 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government signed an agreement with local company Novi Volvoks for the design and construction of a six-person chairlift in the winter resort of Zarski, it said on Friday.
Montenegro plans to invest a total of 9 million euro ($10.2 million) in the project, the Montenegrin government said in a statement.
The manufacturer of the equipment to be installed in Zarski is Italian company Leitne, it added.
The deadline for preparing the design of the ski lift is two months after the date of signing the contract, the design of the main cableway project should be ready in four months and the construction works should be completed in 12 months, the government added.
In December, Montenegro's government said it plans to invest a total of 18 million euro in the construction of six-person chairlifts with a capacity for 2,600 skiers per hour and tracks with a total length of 18.5 kilometres in the winter resorts of Kolasin 1600 and Zarski.
The government plans to build ski tracks with a length of 9.5 kilometres in Kolasin 1600 and 9 kilometres in Zarski.
In January 2018, prime minister Dusko Markovic said the government plans to invest 60 million euro by 2020 to improve the country's winter tourism infrastructure in the areas of Kolasin, Mojkovac and Bijelo Polje.
