January 17 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government is in talks for the relaunch of direct flights to and from Russia to support its summer tourism season, economy minister Jakov Milatovic said.
The return of Russian tourists to Montenegro during the summer tourist season through the relaunch of direct flights between the two countries was the main topic of a discussion with Russia's deputy minister of economic development Alexey Gruzdev at Expo 2020 Dubai, Milatovic said in his Twitter profile on Sunday.
Montenegro wishes to strengthen cooperation in innovation, industry and trade with Russia, he added.
Russian flag carrier Aeroflot suspended direct flights to Montenegro in 2020 due to the epidemiologic situation in the Balkan country.
In April 2021, Montenegro allowed Russian, Ukrainian and Belarussian citizens to enter the country without a PCR test or a COVID-19 vaccination validation.
