September 4 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's economy ministry said it received three bids in a tender for the construction and operation of a photovoltaic (PV) plant in the municipality of Ulcinj.
Bids were placed by Malta-based International Renewable Energy Development Limited (IRED), Montenegrin company Montesolar and a consortium of Finland's Fortum and Montenegrin power utility EPCG [MNG:EPCG], the economy ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The ministry will pick the best bid within a period of 30 days.
The tender envisages the construction of a PV plant with installed capacity of more than 200 MW on a plot of land located in Briska Gora, which spreads on an area of 6.621 million square metres.
The selected bidder will have to install at least 50 MW of PV capacity within a period of 18 months after the signing of the agreement and to increase capacity to more than 200 MW in the following 36 months.
