PODGORICA (Montenegro), September 24 (SeeNews) – Montenegro is ready to close two chapters in its membership negotiations with the European Union, justice minister Zoran Pazin said on Monday.
"We are currently ready to close two chapters and we will soon implement all internal procedures and be ready to close six more," Pazin said, as quoted in a statement by Montenegro's Justice Ministry.
The real purpose of the European integration process is to build institutions that provide equal rights and opportunities for all citizens and a reliable legal system for the business community, Pazin said during a meeting with Romanian counterpart Tudorel Toader.
Montenegro has opened 31 chapters thus far, three of which are temporarily closed. The country hopes that it will open the remaining two - Chapter 8 on competition and Chapter 27 on environment - by the end of the year.
