April 7 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's authorities are considering the reopening of seaports for cruise traffic as early as this week, local media reported on Wednesday.
"This ban should be abolished as of April 10 for cruisers that have an authorised laboratory to perform microbiological tests for the presence of the new coronavirus by real-time PCR technique," news daily Vijesti quoted sources from Montenegro's health ministry as saying.
The government has received numerous enquiries from major shipping companies such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises about the conditions for cruise calls at Montenegrin ports, Vijesti said.
Montenegro closed its ports for cruise traffic in March 2020 as part of restrictions on movement aimed at limiting the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
