February 19 (SeeNews) - Montenegro launched a tender for the delivery of consultancy services to ToMontenegro, the successor to troubled flag carrier Montenegro Airlines, the capital investments ministry said.
The consultant will support obtaining a new Air Operator Certificate (AOC), building the airline's foundations according to modern market principles, preparing the design of its management model and organisational structure, as well as the launch of flight operations and introduction of a price plan, the ministry said in a notice posted on its website earlier this week.
The deadline for submission of bids is February 24. The most favourable bid will be selected within the next seven days.
The government established the new flag carrier with an initial capital of 30 million euro ($36.4 million) in January to replace Montenegro Airlines which will be liquidated. The liquidation procedure would cost about 50 million euro but it is inevitable, as the country's competition authority has ruled that the law for public investment in the flag carrier adopted in December 2019 was illegal, the government said in December 2020.
Montenegro Airlines was founded in 1994 and made its maiden flight in 1997.
