December 13 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government is inviting bids for the construction of ski lifts and tracks in the winter resorts of Kolasin 1600 and Zarski, it said on Thursday.
The project, with a total budget of 18 million euro ($20.5 million), envisages the construction of six-person chairlifts with a capacity for 2,600 skiers per hour and tracks with a total length of 18.5 kilometres, the government said in a statement.
The government plans to build ski tracks with a length of 9.5 kilometres in Kolasin 1600 and with a length of 9 kilometres in Zarski, it said.
The deadline for the preparation of project documentation is six months after the signing of the contract, while the construction works will take a year to complete, the government added.
In January 2020, Montenegro's prime minister Dusko Markovic said the government plans to invest 60 million euro by 2020 to improve the country's winter tourism infrastructure in the areas of Kolasin, Mojkovac and Bijelo Polje.
