May 13 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government aims to award by October a 30-year concession contract to run the country's two international airports, in Podgorica and Tivat, local media reported on Wednesday.
"It would take four to five months if we start the procedure immediately, and we will do so," public broadcaster RTCG quoted transport minister Osman Nurkovic as saying.
In January, Montenegro's government said it picked four companies as qualified bidders in a tender for the concession of the two airports. The qualified candidates are: South Korea's Incheon International Airport Corporation; India's GMR Airports; Luxembourg's Corporation America Airports; and a consortium of France's Groupe ADP and Turkey's TAV.
Montenegro will very shortly ask the shortlisted candidates to submit a bid, he added.
"That deadline is 60 days and I am optimistic that there will be no need to extend it," Nurkovic said.
In July 2019, the government approved plans to award a 30-year concession contract to run the two international airports, expecting an investment of at least 200 million euro ($217 million).
