July 27 (SeeNews) - The price of pellet fuel for households buying directly from factories will be limited at 269 euro ($273.34) per tonne to protect citizens from a further rise in prices ahead of the new heating season, Montenegro's minister of agriculture, forestry and water management Vladimir Jokovic said
There is no sure way to predict whether the price of pellet fuel could be lowered in the coming months but it's certain that it will not rise, Jokovic said in a press release on Tuesday after a meeting with pellet fuel producers at which the price cap was agreed.
In order to ensure sufficient supply, citizens will be able to acquire two to three tonnes at first, Jokovic said in a video published alongside the release.
According to local media reports, the price of pellet fuel in Montenegro was around 150 euro per tonne a year ago. It started rising sharply earlier this year as a result of inflation and doubled in June.
