September 21 (SeeNews) - The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector increased to 3.054 billion euro ($3.597 billion) at the end of August, up 13.9% year-on-year, central bank data shows.
Loans to households rose by 11.3% year-on-year to 1.206 billion euro as at end-August, while loans to privately owned companies grew by 9.4% to 986.9 million euro, according to figures posted on the website of Montenegro's central bank, CBCG.
The total value of impairment of loans increased to 149 million euro at the end of August, from 123.7 million euro a year earlier.
Deposits with Montenegrin banks increased 13.7% year-on-year to 3.532 billion euro at end-August. The deposits of households grew by 12% to 1.315 billion euro.
The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector totaled 2.701 billion euro at the end of 2017, up 11.8% year-on-year.
