September 12 (SeeNews) - The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector increased to 2.944 billion euro ($3.4 billion) at the end of July, up 11.8% year-on-year, central bank data shows.
Loans to households rose by 11.1% year-on-year to 1.198 billion euro as at end-July, while loans to privately owned companies grew by 7.6% to 996.6 million euro, according to figures posted on the website of Montenegro's central bank, CBCG.
The total value of impairment of loans increased to 152.4 million euro at the end of July, from 127.7 million euro a year earlier.
Deposits with Montenegrin banks increased 12.9% year-on-year to 3.415 billion euro at end-July. The deposits of households grew by 10.8% to 1.279 billion euro.
The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector totalled 2.701 billion euro at the end of 2017, up 11.8% year-on-year.
