PODGORICA (Montenegro), November 13 (SeeNews) – National flag carrier Montenegro Airlines said it will start to operate two flights a week between Bosnia’s Tuzla and Vienna from December 21.
The carrier will operate 40 charter flights between the two destinations and expects to transfer 200,000 passengers on this route by March, Montenegro Airlines said in a press release on Thursday, following a meeting with Tuzla Airport representatives.
Additional new connections between Tuzla and other European destinations were considered during the meeting, as well as the possibility of turning charter service to Vienna into a regular route in the future.
This would be the first direct flight between Tuzla and Vienna. According to local media, BH Airlines considered introducing a stop in Tuzla on its Sarajevo-Vienna route in 2009 but these plans never materialised.
Montenegro Airlines carries around 40% of all passengers that travel to and from Montenegro, a country with population of some 630,000.
