November 18 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government aims to reduce the unemployment rate in the country to 12% in 2025 from 17.9% last year, it said.
The government also plans to increase the employment rate to 66% in 2025 from 55.2% in 2020, according to a draft of a 2021-2025 employment strategy posted on its website on Wednesday.
The country's jobless rate is expected to decline to 15% and employment rate is seen at 61% in 2023, the government said.
Moreover, the government aims to increase the minimum monthly wage to 500 euro ($567) in 2025 from 222 euro in 2020, it added.
In September, finance and social minister Milojko Spajic said Montenegro's government plans to introduce a progressive corporate income tax as part of a broad tax reform that aims to support economic growth and reduce the share of grey economy and increase the minimum wage in 2022 to 450 euro.
