PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 2 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s budget deficit totalled 23.3 million euro ($29.1 million) in the first nine months of 2014, equivalent to 0.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for this year, central bank data indicated.
No comparative figures were provided but according to data released by the central bank last year, Montenegro's budget deficit stood at 138.2 million euro in the same period of 2013, equivalent to 3.9% of the country's GDP.
In September alone, the country's budget showed a deficit of 1.1 million euro, the central bank said in a monthly bulletin, versus a budget gap of 900,000 euro a year earlier.
In 2013 Montenegro’s budget deficit was 128.3 million euro, equivalent to 3.9% of the country's GDP.
