PODGORICA (Montenegro), September 16 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s budget deficit totalled 50.5 million euro ($65 million) in the first seven months of 2014, equivalent to 1.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for this year, central bank data indicated on Tuesday.
No comparative figures were provided but according to data released by the central bank last year, Montenegro's budget deficit stood at 119.6 million euro in the same period of 2013.
In July alone, the country's budget showed a surplus of 13.5 million euro, the central bank said in a monthly bulletin, versus a deficit of 37.6 million euro a year earlier.
In 2013 Montenegro’s budget deficit was 128.3 million euro, equivalent to 3.9% of the country's GDP.
